We will learn to express ourselves and communicate with our partner through different methods of butoh dance and japanese rope bondage with the guidance of Ken Mai and Hedwig. This will be an experiment that we hope will give us a fresh perspective on shibari and new ways of expression.
Price: 60 e/couple (contact us for a price reduction if you're financially struggling)
Teaching: Butoh on Saturday 23.8. from 3 pm to 9 pm; Shibari on Sunday 24.8. from 12 am to 6 pm. Both days will be 6 hours long with a lunch break and some shorter breaks as we need them.

Class size: max. 20 people
Accessibility: sadly the venue has a lot of steep stairs
You will not need any previous experience to attend.
Exercises are done in pairs. If you do not have a partner please tell us when registering. You can also try to find a partner through the facebook event. We do however suggest you find a partner in advance as it will be easier to connect, feel safe and relax with someone you know.
_Teachers_
Ken Mai is a Japanese Butoh artist, choreographer, and teacher from Kyoto but is currently based in Helsinki Finland since 2006. He studied the unique style of both founders, Kazuo Ohno and Tatsumi Hijikata, and has also studied German expressionist dance, which had a considerable influence on Butoh. His style of performance combines Butoh elements with a background in acting, gymnastics, singing, drums, martial arts and zen buddhism.

Hedwig is a queer, polyamorous, femme switch born and raised in Sweden. She is active both in public and private play consisting of a wide range of BDSM and fetish activites, with a primary focus on rope bondage, inspired mainly by the japanese Shibari/Kinbaku tradition. Hedwig has and is studying under Esinem (UK), Kinoko Hajime, Kazami Ranki (JAP), Shadow (BEL) and Peter Slemrian (DEN). She founded Hitchin' Bitches in late 2011, a group and network for female identified rope tops that now has almost 40 chapters around the world.

Riippuu siitä, kuinka nopeasti paikat menevät. Ilmoittautumisia on nyt tullut sunnuntain jälkeen noin kaksi päivässä.

Ken Mai on todella hyvä opettaja. Jos butosta on yhtään kiinnostunut ja pääsee paikalle, niin kannattaa osalllistua. Hyvä konsepti. Harmittaa, että itseltä jää väliin...

Jos päätän tulla, kannattaako etsiä pari etukäteen esimerkiksi ilmoittelemalla täällä foorumilla vai voiko sellaisen löytää paikan päältä? Mitä jos paria ei löydykään, joudunko vain seuraamaan vierestä? Onko muuten linkkiä tuohon Facebook-tapahtumaan, en löytänyt sellaista alkuperäisestä viestistä?

Kannattaa etsiä pari itse, mutta pidän sut mielessä jos joku muu vielä etsii paria. Tapahtuma löytyy facebookista etsimällä "butoh & shibari".
